The Explorer Lighter by Outerland is windproofed using 4 cross-polarity leads and waterproofed using an O-ring and a heavy-duty pressure clasp system. How long does it last?
We recommend topping up the charge before you begin your trip. It will carry a charge for up to two weeks of use, depending how often you are starting fires with it. If you are carrying a SolarPak, you can make sure it's charged on a daily basis.
How do I use it?
Simply open the pressure clasp on the side of the case and lift the cap. There will be some resistance caused by the O-ring. When open, you can either charge it with the included cable (perfect companion for the SolarPak), or ignite a flammable/combustible material by pressing on the ignition button on the side of the metal head.
What can this light?
Tinder of all sorts will catch flame with this lighter. However, you can't catch flame with just a log, so we recommend following the same protocols that you would learn by taking a survival or emergency-preparedness course. Education is more valuable than any equipment.
